Charlton Select Board Signs Special Town Meeting Warrant for February 18 Vote
CHARLTON — January 28, 2025 — Charlton Select Board unanimously approves February 18 special town meeting warrant and church trivia night alcohol permit. The board signed and authorized the posting of the special town meeting warrant — required the following morning to meet legal notice deadlines — for a citizen's petition meeting at Charlton Middle School on February 18 at 7 p.m. The board also approved a three-day special alcoholic beverage license for St. Joseph's Church Youth Ministry's trivia night fundraiser on January 31, covering January 30 through February 1 per board pickup-and-delivery policy; the application had been cleared by the police chief, building commissioner, and fire department. The town administrator reported that general contractor bids for the fire station project, received January 27, "do look very favorable" pending architect review, and said a draft house numbering policy approved at fall town meeting would come before the board in February. Gina Mattress of Tri-Valley Elder Services presented Dementia Friendly Charlton survey findings showing 95 percent of 81 respondents had a family connection to dementia.
