CHARLTON — Lakes & Ponds Committee awards survey contract after single bid response. The committee selected Water and Wetlands following the April 2 request for proposals, which drew only one reply from three firms contacted. Co-Chair Phil Cyr will obtain legal counsel on the appropriate use of $24,000 withdrawn from the Municipal Waterways Fund, after town finance staff barred spending on private-road catch basins.
In related action, the committee voted unanimously to advance a town bylaw regulating wakesurfing on Charlton lakes and ponds through the October 2026 town meeting warrant.
