CHARLTON — The Charlton Conservation Commission approved a Worcester Road gas station and convenience store with apartments and a National Grid substation serving an Amazon warehouse, while denying a Smith Road waiver bid. Conservation/Stormwater Director Rose Conway recommended against letting applicant David Sedowski skip a land-disturbance permit on a 14,300-square-foot project, calling it part of a larger "common plan of development" exceeding an acre. "I absolutely request the commission to deny his request because it will set up — you might as well throw the regulations away," Conway said.
Commission member Mitch Dunn's motion to grant the waiver died for lack of a second; a motion to deny it passed. The board also continued a nine-duplex proposal at 35 North Main Street to October 28 after flagging a roughly $750 fee shortfall, and kept a South Charlton Reservoir study under staff review rather than putting it to a vote.
