Select Board elects Koronis as chairman; approves special liquor license and bottle bill advocacy
Select Board · Meeting of May 12, 2026
Charlton Select Board voted to reorganize after the annual election, unanimously electing Stephen Koronis as Chairman, David Singer as Vice-Chairman, and Michael Kavorkian as Clerk. In a 3-2 vote, the board approved sending a letter to State Senator Ryan Fattman urging passage of an expanded Massachusetts Bottle Bill, with Singer and Kavorkian opposed. The motion followed public comment from the Keep Charlton Beautiful Committee, which reported collecting approximately 5,000 nip bottles during an Earth Day cleanup.
Tarek Mroczkowski, owner of Ted's Package Store, offered to place nip collection bins in his storefront and donate up to $10,000 annually to the committee as bins fill. The board also unanimously approved a special liquor license for a June 27 wedding at Joslin Camp and reset the summer meeting schedule to June 16, July 7, and August 11.
