Select Board approves warrant, school budget, and permits for public events.
Select Board · Meeting of April 14, 2026
Charlton Select Board approves school budget and warrant following joint finance meeting. The Dudley-Charlton Regional School District operating budget totals 65.748 million dollars, a 4.35 percent increase driven by contractual obligations, employee benefits, and expanded pupil personnel services, with Superintendent Steven Lamarche and Director Joseph DeSantis presenting the spending plan. Chair Karen Spiewak cast the sole vote against a Cooperation with Federal Agencies Policy, approved 4 to 1 by the board.
The board unanimously approved a Master Plan Steering Committee, a Special Event Permit for the Charlton Arts and Activities Council's Blueberry Festival on July 26, and the Charlton Lions Club toll road for May 9, with the latter contingent on safety precautions.
