Charlton Select Board approves scholarships and insurance transition in May 26 meeting. The board unanimously awarded the Jessie Smith Scholarship to applicant 4 and the Nehemiah B. Stone Scholarship to applicant 3 for 500 dollars.
Town Administrator Andrew Golas advanced motions to award the FY2027 heating oil contract to Fraticelli Oil and Propane at 0.43 dollars over market and the propane contract to Superior Plus Energy Services at 0.35 dollars over market. The board unanimously authorized the town's shift from Hampshire County Group Insurance Trust to Mass Strategic Health Group and Southern Worcester County Health Insurance Group, with active employees receiving a two-month premium holiday and new non-union employees hired after July 1 subject to a 75-25 percent employer-employee health insurance contribution split.
