CHARLTON — The Charlton Planning Board approved a field change for Boston Outdoor Living at 220 Sturbridge Road, relocating a proposed dumpster enclosure and delaying top course paving to fall 2026, in a unanimous vote by members Don Clay and Leonie Howard. The Board also unanimously approved the Town's choice not to exercise its right of first refusal on A. Young Road parcels 21-A-9 and 22-B-1.

The Board discussed a proposed Large Battery Energy Storage System at 131 Carpenter Hill Road with 150 MW/600 MWh capacity, sufficient to serve roughly 120,000 homes for four hours during peak demand, with a community information meeting scheduled July 8, 2026 at Charlton Public Library.
