Old Home Day Committee approves motion to explore beer garden proposal.
Old Home Day Committee · Meeting of April 21, 2026
CHARLTON — Old Home Day Committee advances beer garden proposal pending Select Board approval. The motion by Vice Chair Gerry Doble will require the committee to secure town authorization, arrange fencing and gated entry, obtain a one-day license, and coordinate police coverage; the vendor pays for their own space. Donation Coordinator Mike Lally reported $2,500 in pledged donations, with solicitation letters pending responses from Amazon and Tree House Brewery.
The committee voted unanimously to support placement of flags on telephone poles around the common as a business-donation incentive, with Matt Power and Steve Koronis developing the placement plan. Four golf carts will be delivered September 4 for guest transport, with Brad Howard operating one throughout the day for mobility-challenged attendees.
