CHARLTON — Keep Charlton Beautiful Committee approves plastic bags for Earth Day roadside cleanup. Chair Debbie Marquis and six members, meeting April 13, voted unanimously to fund clear trash bags for collecting bottles and cans as part of a town-wide initiative to strengthen the Massachusetts Bottle Bill. Kathleen Walker urged members to lobby for expanded container recycling and higher bottle deposits.
The committee's May meeting will focus solely on completing Recycling Dividends Program worksheets due June first.
