CHARLTON — Fire Substation Building Committee approves $976,606 contractor payment and change order. The committee voted unanimously to authorize Pay Requisition 13 at its May 13 meeting via Zoom, and also approved Change Order Number 13 totaling $15,139.44 net in four separate change proposals, according to minutes. Project Coordinator Krysta Levandowski reported the substation is approximately 47.92 percent toward completion with expenditures to date of $8,865,201 and a remaining balance to finish of $9,634,800.
Committee Chair Andrew Golas raised questions about switchgear delivery and whether the town could facilitate permanent power installation, which project leadership has identified as the greatest scheduling concern.
