Council on Aging · Meeting of May 19, 2026
Charlton Council on Aging cancels Mohegan bus trip over escalating costs. At a special meeting called by Council Chair Sue Crockett on May 19, the Council voted unanimously to cancel a previously approved day trip after reviewing vendor quotes ranging from $2,300 to $2,800. Council members attributed the decision to sharp increases in fuel costs.
In attendance were Council members Rebecca Cook, Ed Ciesluk, Earlyne Murray, and Linda Walker, along with Director Michelle Drumm. Absent for medical reasons were Secretary Vicki Thompson and member Shelia Chmielowski. The Council also reached consensus to research replacement copier options for the director's office.
