CHARLTON — Council on Aging moves senior center feasibility study to selectmen, welcomes 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The Charlton Council on Aging heard updates on its senior center project, with the feasibility study identifying the Charlton Furniture site as the best location and advancing to the Board of Selectmen. Bruce Menin reported that The Friends of The Charlton Senior Community Center has incorporated as a 501(c)(3) and is ready to conduct fundraising.

The board unanimously approved the Treasurer's report, which included donations of $30,000, formula grant revenue of $73,679, and expenses of $66,844.16. The council deferred voting on an open board position to September pending additional applications after only one interview was conducted; the departing member's resignation arrived late in July, extending the application window.
