Charlton's Senior/Community Center Feasibility Committee concluded the Dresser Hill Road site was the best option. All six members agreed purchasing and renovating that site was more cost efficient and comprehensive than renovating the town hall basement location, considering ADA compliance, fire safety codes, and resident questionnaire responses. The committee's fundraising arm, Friends of Charlton Senior Community Center Inc., began receiving donations and opened an account with Cornerstone Bank.
Recommendations were scheduled for presentation to the Finance Committee on August 19 and the Select Board on August 25.
