Charlton Select Board approves promotion and cemetery hire after eight interviews. The board unanimously advanced Jake Adams from Cemetery Laborer to Highway Laborer and appointed William Harvey as Cemetery Laborer following a review of 40 applications and eight candidate interviews, pending background check and physical. In a separate action, seven Library positions were unanimously designated as Special Municipal Employees to support the town's Digital Equity Grant.
A three-year grounds maintenance contract was awarded to BCB Lawn Services of Charlton for an estimated $266,850. The board closed the May Annual Town Meeting warrant with 20 articles, though one utility pole hearing at Ramshorn Road was continued to March 24 after resident Jason Julian raised safety concerns about the proposed pole location on what he described as one of the town's most dangerous curves.
