CHARLTON — The Bylaw Review Committee continued reviewing town bylaws and identified six chapters requiring departmental input. Chair Joseph Haebler led the committee through discussions of sewer use, solid waste, stormwater, roads and parking, water use, and energy code provisions. The committee requested consultations with the Water and Sewer Commission, Board of Health, Conservation Commission, and Building Commissioner and assigned Brad Howard to meet with Fire Chief Barton regarding alarm and fee questions.
The committee also requested information on how fees affect seniors and residents on fixed incomes. Finance Director materials remain pending with Town Counsel since April or May, with the committee planning to request a status update. The next meeting is scheduled for October 21, 2026.
