CHARLTON — The Board of Health heard a status report on Flint Road Landfill capping and PFAS work. Health Director James Philbrook reported that work at the 54 Flint Road site is progressing, with a large ledge section discovered that will not require a liner, reducing costs. Philbrook expressed concern about cleanup pace at the Joel Checka property on Route 20; after he and the Town Administrator met with Checka, the property owner acknowledged the cleanup need, which the state Department of Environmental Protection has requested the board strongly pursue.
The board voted unanimously to rescind its approval of the July 21, 2026 minutes pending further evaluation.
